A popular shopping and leisure centre in Banbury has flushed the competition with its toilet facilities.
The toilets at castle Quay in Banbury have been given ‘platinum’ status – the highest possible honour – in the Loo of the Year awards.

The awards were established in 1987 to recognise the top toilets across the UK and Ireland.
The grading system ascends from bronze to silver and then gold, with platinum status reserved for only the most luxurious lavatories.
The loo awards website states: “The awards have a simple objective, namely, to encourage the highest possible standards in all ‘away from home’ washrooms.
“Everyone has a shared responsibility to make this happen – washroom providers, managers, contractors, staff, visitors and customers; all washroom users.”
