The Oxfordshire road closures you need to know about

Drivers in and around Oxfordshire will have dozens of National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows the following roads will be closed:

Oxford

• A34, from 8pm December 2 2022 to 6am March 11 2023, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 northbound, Botley to Peartree, carriageway closure for structures maintenance, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A34, from 6am August 1 2022 to 11.59pm September 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound and southbound, Peartree Interchange, Lane closures on the exit slips for Oxfordshire County Council works.

And a further three closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 8pm January 9 to 6am January 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions Botley to Peartree, carriageway and lane closures for structures maintenance, diversion via National Highways and local authority network.

• A34, from 8pm January 11 to 6am January 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A34 both directions Peartree to Botley, carriageway closure for structures maintenance, diversion via local authority network.

• A34, from 8pm January 23 to 6am January 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, Botley, slip road and lane closures for electrical work, diversion via National Highways network.

Cherwell

• M40, from 9pm January 8 to 6am January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 11 to junction 12, Lane closure for maintenance works.

• M40, from 6am January 8 to 11.59pm January 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 northbound, junction 11 to junction 12, Hard Shoulder closure for maintenance works.

And a further 30 closures will begin over the next seven days:

• A34, from 8pm January 9 to 6am February 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A34 northbound, junction 9 roundabout and M40 exit slips, Lane closure for local authority works.

• M40, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 10 to junction 9, Lane closure for maintenance works.

• A43, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A43 southbound, Cherwell to B430, Lane closure for works on behalf of Ringway.

• M40, from 9pm January 9 to 5am January 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M40 southbound, junction 10 to junction 9, Lane closure for maintenance works.
