David and Victoria Beckham are reportedly selling their Cotswolds home due to increased traffic noise from Soho Farmhouse, it has been claimed.

However, a source close to the Beckhams has told the Oxford Mail the family denies the claims.

The Beckhams’ property is along the same road as the exclusive private members' club which hosted Meghan Markle's hen party.

Oxford Mail:

Soho Farmhouse was already open when the Beckhams bought their converted barn in 2017, but the number of cars going to it is said to have at least doubled in the past two years, said the Mail on Sunday.

A source close to the couple told the paper: "David and Victoria adore their barn and they absolutely love Great Tew, but the traffic and noise that comes from it has made it very difficult to live there now.

"They love going to the Cotswolds and they also enjoy spending time at Soho Farmhouse but they think it’s time to find another property to spend their weekends in, just not too far away.

"It is such a shame – so much love has gone into that house and they got it just how they wanted it.

"It is their sanctuary."

David and Victoria Beckham bought the grand barn conversion in Great Tew, near Chipping Norton, for £6,150,000 in December 2016.

At the time the three Grade II listed barns linked in an E-shaped pattern, still resembled a building site.

Rumours Mr Beckham might have been doing a spot of DIY at his new house surfaced after he was spotted in a B&Q in Banbury.

Football legend Mr Beckham and fashion designer wife Victoria spend weekends and holidays at the property with their children Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper and stayed at the nine-bedroom home during the pandemic.

Oxford Mail:

In recent years the country estate has been renovated a number of times and now includes a huge football pitch, a spectator stand, an outdoor pool, and a sauna.

The home is also said to have an enormous garage, fitted with flashy cars and a motorbike.

The most recent addition to their home, now estimated to be worth £12million, is a £50,000 safari-style tent.

In 2020 the Beckhams applied to the council for permission to build an underground passageway to link their home with their existing garage.

Part of a proposed new basement cellar, planning documents said that it will “improve security for the occupants of the property.”

The plans also included a security hut and, on a lighter note, a wine cellar.

In September 2022 their neighbours backed their plans for a new security cabin - to deter "undesirable elements from venturing into our lovely little village" and allow them to sleep at night.

The celebrity duo wanted to beef up their safety measures in response to a number of incidents - including a break in at their £40million West London home and being targeted by a stalker.
