These are the first pictures of the tractor crash that blocked the A34 at rush-hour yesterday morning.
They show the tractor on its side, as well as a heavily-damaged white Luton van – its passenger side door having been cut away by firefighters.
Emergency services were called to the A34 near Islip at around 6.30am on Friday (January 6) after reports of the crash between the white van and the orange S.A.M.E. tractor.
The van was blocking the northbound carriageway, while the tractor was on its side.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said paramedic crews dealt with two casualties, including one who was trapped in the van and had to cut free by firefighters from Rewley Road and Kidlington fire stations.
In a plea posted on social media, the fire service urged drivers: “Please, during these winter months ensure that your vehicle is fit for purpose. Check your tyres, lights, windscreen wipers and oil levels.”
