Anthony Bartlett has been found guilty of wounding with intent at Oxford Crown Court.
Bartlett, 28, of Norman Smith Road, Greater Leys, stood accused of stabbing Oxford Mail sales executive Simon Pratley.
He denied the charges by was found guilty by a jury of five women and seven men.
Sentencing has been adjourned.
