A motorist is being sought by detectives after a young man was robbed on Oxford's Blackbird Leys estate, police said today.

At 2.30am, on Monday, May 24, on the corner of Kestrel Crescent and Merlin Road, a 20-year-old man was attacked by four males.

They approached him from behind, punched him in the back of the head and stole his iPod, laptop, mobile phone and black leather jacket.

They ran off down Kestrel Crescent, possibly in the direction of the nearby allotments.

Pc Rob Barratt said: "I would particularly like to contact the driver of a white Nissan Micra, which drove past seconds before the robbery."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 08458 505505.
