ALMOST 1,300 meals are going to be donated to children in Chipping Norton over the festive period.

Aldi’s store in the town is providing the meals to the Chipping Norton Theatre to be distributed to children in the local area who would be eligible for free school meals during term time.

The theatre has reported a heightened demand on their services and hopes to be able to feed at least 160 children.

John Richardson, regional managing director at Aldi UK, said: “Chipping Norton Theatre is an excellent example of one of the many community groups we are incredibly proud to support.

“We know a lot of families will be struggling this winter and that is why we are making this additional donation to help the local community in Chipping Norton this December.”

Clare O’Hara, head of outreach at Chipping Norton Theatre, said: “We are very grateful for Aldi’s support during this busy period. Due to the high demand this year, it is becoming increasingly difficult for charities like ours to help those in need, but donations like this help to make all the difference.”
