A BUDGET supermarket is trialling clear caps on milk bottles in its Oxfordshire stores in a bid to improve the recyclability of its products.
Aldi is scrapping the green bottle tops on its British semi-skimmed milk products in favour of clear caps, which are easier to recycle.
The trial, which is in partnership with milk supplier Müller, was introduced earlier this month across seven of its Oxfordshire stores.

If successful, an additional 60 tonnes per year of recycled High-Density Polythene (rHDPE) could be turned back into food grade packaging.
This move is the latest in Aldi’s efforts to increase the amount of recycled materials in its products.
The supermarket is on track to have 50 per cent of its plastic packaging made from recycled materials by 2025.
