AN historic pub and restaurant has been criticised by inspectors who handed it a one-out-of-five food hygiene rating.
The Fox and Hounds, a country pub in Christmas Common, near Watlington, was given the score after assessment on October 26, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.
A rating of 1 means that major improvements are needed.
The pub which has 107 'excellent' reviews on Trip Advisor, is an historic country pub in the heart of the Chiltern Hills an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
It means that of South Oxfordshire's 276 restaurants, cafes and canteens with ratings, 143 (52%) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.
