A PARALYMPIAN will be opening the new Aldi in Abingdon next month.

Bronze medallist Jordanne Whiley will be opening the new store in Wootton Road on Thursday, December 15 at 8am.

The tennis player will be cutting the ribbon to celebrate the opening of the store and the new official partnership between Aldi and ParalympicsGB.

She will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables from Aldi’s famous Super 6 range to the first 30 customers in the queue.

The partnership builds on Aldi’s existing partnership with Team GB, where they have supported Great Britain’s Olympic team and athletes since 2015.

Aldi will be fuelling ParalympicGB athletes to success by providing all athletes with monthly food vouchers.

The new store, which was approved by Vale of White Horse District Council last year, will be run by manager Lina, along with a team of 40 colleagues.

Manager Lina said: “We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Abingdon. It’s set to be a special day and having Paralympic hero Jordanne Whiley join us will make it a morning to remember.”

Mrs Whiley added: “I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of ParalympicsGB.”
