AN iconic Christmas tradition has returned to Cholsey and Wallingford this year.

The Polar Express Train Ride at Cholsey and Wallingford railway station has begun after being cancelled last year due to urgent sewage works on the railway.

The popular Christmas experience aims to brings the 2004 film, The Polar Express, to life where children will be able to meet the characters including the conductor, the singing chefs and Mr Claus himself.

Families can enjoy cookies and hot chocolate as Father Christmas visits each carriage. After the train ride, there is also a Santa workshop at the railway where children can write him a letter and visit the gift shop.

Organisers recommend families come dressed in their pyjamas for a ‘full Christmas experience’.
