The severe weather warning in Oxfordshire has been extended and is now to remain in place until 3pm.

The Met Office had expected the heavy band of rain over the county to clear by 10.45am, but has now extended the warning twice.

So far 30.6mm of rain has fallen in Benson, near Wallingford, in the last six hours and 20mm in Brize Norton over the same period.

Meteorologists expect a further 25mm of rain to fall in Oxfordshire this afternoon.

Police are warning motorists to take care on the county's roads.
