Children can celebrate the beginning of the Christmas season with festive activities galore.

Witney children are invited to the return of the annual Children’s Advent Fayre, organised by Witney Town Council, offering fun for youngsters from all over the town for free.

Highlights include making reindeer food from oats, sprinkles, and edible glitter and stamping your own wrapping paper.

Children can make a hand-decorated gift bag to give as a Christmas present.

There will be Christmas colour-in character lollipops, decorating lollies with classic Christmas characters.

Or kids can make their own jingle-bell stick - simply shake the stick for lovely tinkling bells - or Papercraft Christmas ornaments for a creative way to dress up the family Christmas tree.

There's also face painting and a reindeer trail with a prize draw at the end of it.

Children will also have the opportunity to write a letter to Father Christmas, letting him know what they would like for Christmas, which can then be posted in the special post box.

Once it's winged its way to Lapland and Santa has received it, each child will receive a personal reply.

The Advent Fayre will be held in the Corn Exchange, Market Square, Witney, on Sunday 27 November between 11am and 4pm.
