A CYCLIST was left seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle in Oxford on Remembrance Sunday (November 13).

Thames Valley Police said that a vehicle and a cyclist were involved in a crash on Iffley Road at the junction with Iffley Turn at around 12.45pm.

The vehicle was travelling on Iffley Road towards the city centre and turned onto Iffley Turn when the crash happened.

The driver stopped at the scene however no details were obtained.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, suffered a fractured skull and other minor cuts and bruises and was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital for further treatment, but he has since been discharged.

No arrests have been made. The police are now looking for witnesses after the incident.

Investigating officer PC Daniel Surman, from Cowley police station, said: “I am appealing for the driver or any witnesses to this collision, whereby a cyclist has sustained serious injuries, to please come forward.

“The incident took place on Remembrance Sunday which may make it easier for people to recall.

“Also, I would urge any motorists in the area that have a dash-cam to please check their recordings in case anything significant was caught as it could help our investigation, and then send it to us via this dedicated portal.
