DO you drive a Volkswagen Golf? If you do, you’re driving the most popular car in Oxford.
Based on figures compiled by heycar, the most popular car from October 2021 to October this year was the compact five-seater vehicle.
The car was closely followed by the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and then a Volkswagen Transporter.

A list of the top 10 overall is as follows:
- Volkswagen Golf
- Mercedes-Benz C-Class
- Volkswagen Transporter
- Mercedes-Benz A-Class
- Nissan Qashqai
- Ford Transit Custom
- Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
- Audi A3
- Ford Fiesta
- BMW 3 Series
The data is based on the number of people in an Oxford postcode which have searched or looked at the vehicle but doesn’t mean it was necessarily bought.
A spokesman for heycar said: “This could show buying intentions and what type of car people are most interested in for their next purchase but could also be people browsing cars that caught their eye or they're looking at their dream car that they're hoping to get one day.”
Data also revealed the top car of last month as being the Volkswagen Transporter followed by a Peugeot 2008 and Kia Sportage.
