A MAN is afraid to sleep in his own home after an intruder smashed his window and stole his wallet.

The incident happened in St Nicholas Road, Littlemore at about 4.30am on Saturday (November 12).

The man, who has asked to remain anonymous, said: “I was in bed asleep and someone put the window through and jumped into the house wearing a mask.

“I woke up after I heard the window smash and ran out the room. They started shouting at me, ‘You’re a dead man, you’re a dead man.’

“They then found my wallet and went out the door. I called the police straight away and they arrived within 15 to 20 minutes.

“I’m now frightened in my own home - I’ve got a weak heart and I can’t get to sleep.”

The man hopes that anyone with information will contact Thames Valley Police.

Officers are unable to confirm whether a weapon was used or how much money was stolen.

A statement from Thames Valley Police said: “We can confirm that we are investigating a burglary.

“The offender entered the property by smashing a window and stole a quantity of cash and bank cards.

“Anybody with information, or who believes they witnessed the incident is asked to contact Thames Valley Police via the force website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43220511455.”
