I refer to my letter regarding trams in Oxford of last week and would like to thank city council leader Bob Price for his courteous reply.
He seems to generally support trams other than the cost.
I have noted Craig Simmons's letter (Oxford Mail, May 28) and am delighted that he supports a system.
I don't understand, however, what he means by "lightweight trams, which require neither electrified rails or overhead lines".
Does he mean battery trams?
I hope not, as batteries require regular topping up, which could be rather a hazard.
These days, overhead wires can be discreet and hardly noticed.
I am 72, but I still feel I shall see trams in Oxford, one day.
