A woman suffered a punctured lung and multiple fractures in a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle towing a caravan.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision between a red Honda motorcycle which was travelling towards Radcot, near Bampton, at 6pm yesterday, and a silver Volkswagen Caravelle towing a caravan driving in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old woman, was airlifted to University Hospital, Coventry, with serious injuries.
The 50-year-old driver of the Caravelle was uninjured and his wife, who was a passenger, suffered shock and a slight cut to her forehead.
She was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Pc Andrew Sharman, of Thames Valley Police Roads Policing Department, said: "The woman is currently being treated in hospital for multiple injuries.
"She has suffered a punctured lung and fractures to both of her legs, arm, pelvis, as well as a minor injury to her head.
"I appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information that could help our investigation to contact police immediately."
The road was closed for several hours while traffic collision investigators attended the scene.
