THE victim of an allaged murder in Oxford has been named locally by his friends.
A murder investigation was launched by Thames Valley Police's Major Crime Unit after a man in his twenties died in the early hours of today.

Officers were called to the incident in Walton Street, near the junctions of Great Clarendon Street and Little Clarendon Street, in Jericho, at around 12.50am.
The police have not yet released the name of the victim, but he was named locally by friends as Alex Innes.

He was found with serious injuries and died at the scene. The police said his next of kin have been informed and are being supported.
Ten people were arrested in connection with the investigation and remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Nicola Underhill, senior investigating officer of the Major Crime Unit, said: "We have launched a murder investigation after the death of a man in Oxford.
"His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.
"We are in the early stages of this investigation, however we have made nine arrests at this time.
"Currently there is a large scene watch in place in the local area and members of the public will see an increased police presence whilst we carry out our enquiries. Anyone with information or concerns can speak to one of our uniformed officers.
"We are also appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or who may have information about it, to please come forward. You can make a report by calling 101 or via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference 43220511338."

Police tents were set up on Walton Street and forensic officers were seen outside the Clarendon Building and around the area.
The street was closed in both directions from Beaumont Street to Observatory Street, and those trying to cross the cordon from Little Clarendon Street to Walton Crescent were being turned away.
Tributes have been paid to Mr Innes online following the news.
Naomi Short said: “Rest in peace to one of the loveliest men going. We will miss you.”
Lauren Compton said: “Heart-breaking to find out you are gone Alex and I’m so sorry this happened to you. You were so pure, so kind, there was nothing you wouldn’t do for anyone.
“My heart goes out to hundreds of other friends who are grieving but also his family who just like Alex has the biggest heart.”
Liz Price said: “So sad to hear this, rest in peace young man, prayers to his family and friends.”
Janet France said: “That’s so sad and such a waste of life. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Amanda Lindberg said: “Very sad, rest in peace. Thoughts are with his family and friends.”
Steff Anderson said: “Rest in peace Alex, my heart goes out to all your family and friends.”
