The Blenheim Estate has a starring role in an upcoming episode of CITV’s comedy arts and crafts TV show Makeaway Takeaway.

The show’s presenter Bec Hill joined a group of children to create a natural work of art inspired by the site’s ancient oak woodlands.

The Australian comedian joined children whose parents work on the estate to forage for objects from the forest floor and design a green man-inspired mural.

The youngsters then presented the finished work of art to Rural Manager Nick Baimbridge to thank him and his team for looking after the ancient trees.

Oxford Mail:

“I’m very honoured to have had such a beautiful gift created for me by the Makeaway Takeway team and their young helpers,” said Nick.

“It highlights how lovely organic materials are and that a piece of art can be made in an environmentally friendly way.

“It’s also wonderful to see children so engaged with the natural world and for them to recognise how precious it is and how important it is to protect it for future generations,” he added.

The episode titled ‘Come Here Chameleon’ airs for the first time on Monday November 14 at 6pm and will also be available to watch on the ITV Hub.

Blenheim Palace is developing a new forest school as part of an ongoing tree-planting programme on the estate which will create nine new woodlands made up of more than 270,000 native trees.
