Two months on from its closure, The Jam Factory is a shadow of its former self.
The city centre venue, in Hollybush Row, shut its doors for the final time on 17 after an agreement was unable to be reached between the company and its landlords following “considerable and prolonged negotiations, calculations and reflection”.

At the time co-owners, and siblings, Claire Gaskell and Andrew Norton said they were “broken-hearted” to close down after trading for nearly two decades.
Located in the historic Victorian factory which was once home to Oxford Frank Cooper’s Marmalade, the arts venue, bar and restaurant was well-known in the city for being proudly independent.
Now, the venue The Jam Factory stands empty with its front gates locked shut.
Gone is the artwork, huge variety of plants and bustle of customers which once occupied the site.
Despite the closure, Mr Norton was optimistic about the future when he spoke with this newspaper in September.
“Give me the biggest warehouse in Oxford. I will fill it with all the artists, makers, thinkers and The Jam Factory three times over,” he said.
