A BURGLAR stole a playgroup's goldfish in a carrier bag and then knocked door to door all the way home to top up its water, a court heard.
Anthony Baugh, 21, then gave the goldfish to his sister's children, Banbury Magistrates' Court was told.
Baugh, of Sinclair Avenue, Banbury, was drunk when he smashed his way into Easington Playgroup, at Harrier School, in Bloxham Road. He took a digital camera, two CD players, cash of about £20 and the fish. All the property was recovered and the goldfish returned to the playgroup.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
Baugh, who has previously been jailed for two burglaries, is due to be sentenced on June 20.
