Firefighters were sent to tackle a chimney fire which spread into the roof.
Faringdon Fire Station responded to reports of the fire at a home in Great Coxwell, near Faringdon, at 12.50pm yesterday (2/11).
A quick response from the initial crew using a high pressure jet, with assistance from Abingdon Fire Station and a Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Services crew from Swindon, prevented further escalation of the incident.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service stressed the importance of getting your chimney swept on an annual basis before using it as winter evenings draw in.
