Train lines were left blocked in and out of Banbury station this morning after teenage girls trespassed on railway tracks.

At 8.33am Chiltern Railways tweeted that “due to a disturbance on a train at Banbury station, all lines are currently blocked”.

This newspaper approached the British Transport Police who said they were called to the railway station at 6.57am following reports of anti-social behaviour and trespassers on the line.

Officers attended and five girls, aged between 12 and 16, were arrested in connection with the incident.

Tresspassing on railway lines is illegal and if caught you could face a fine of up to £1,000.

Enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

All lines have since reopened.
