Eagled-eyed residents may have already noticed Oxford’s Christmas lights have been hung above the city’s streets.
As the city gears up for the festive season, Oxford City Council has clarified what date the lights will get turned on.

The council has said the lights will be switched on November 18, which will coincide with the first day of the Oxford Christmas Light Festival.
The weekend festival will see colourful illuminations light up Oxford between November 18 and 20, with the displays created for, and by, communities in the city.
This year’s festival will feature community events such as FloFest in Florence Park, a winter party at The Ark-T Centre in Cowley, a late-night museum experience hosted by Oxford Pride and the Made in Oxford market.
