A MAN has been arrested after allegedly acting as a ‘human bollard’ for a missing LTN (low-traffic neighbourhood.
The 61-year-old from Oxford was arrested after Thames Valley Police received a report of a car windscreen being damaged in Divinity Road at about 2.25pm on Sunday (October 23).
A 51-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle ‘dangerously’ and has been released under investigation.

Following statements of support from cllrs Haywood and Gant, yesterday there was a escalation where someone jumped out and smashed up a car, threatening the driver claiming they were a ‘human bollard’ empowered to do so by councillors. It has been alleged the incident happened over an argument about LTNs which have divided communities across the city since Oxfordshire County Council, the highways authority, installed them earlier this year.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A 61-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and dealt with by way of a conditional caution.
“A 51-year-old man from Oxford, was arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle dangerously and has been released under investigation.”
