It was sickening to read (Oxford Mail, May 24) that yet another cancer patient, Jim Wheeler, has been denied Sunitinib by Oxfordshire Primary Care Trust.
A sum of £2,500 per month is nothing to ask for the treatment.
It's probably less than each of the gods, who make these decisions, receive as their salaries each month.
I was pleased to read that Stephen Dallison was feeling well after having the drug, but saddened to read about Martyn Sumner, who died before he had a chance to win in court the right to have the drug.
I think all Oxfordshire MPs should unite regardless of which party they represent and demand in Westminster that this postcode lottery stops.
After all, the money to be found for these drugs comes out of taxpayers' money.
These cancer patients are among those taxpayers and we all pay the salaries of these faceless bureaucrats, who play games with people's lives.
For goodness sake, stop this now and allow people like Jim Wheeler the chance of a prolonged life.
