A HOUSEBUILDER has carved out time to donate pumpkins to an Oxford charity this Halloween.
Redrow Thames Valley, which is currently building at The Steeples on Stevenson Crescent, has donated 55 pumpkins to The Barton Community Association’s annual Halloween Disco, providing local children with the opportunity to get carving this Halloween.
The Barton Community Association brings together local people in and around Barton, through activities, clubs and events to help build stronger community relationships.

This year, the charity hosted a family day, including a Halloween Disco which featured live music, activities and Halloween themed nibbles.
In traditional Halloween fashion, the event also featured a pumpkin carving competition, where the pumpkins, provided by Redrow Thames Valley, served as a blank canvas for children.
Sarah Boyce, sales director for Redrow Thames Valley, said: “We’re delighted to have supported the Barton Community Association with their annual Halloween Disco this year – it was a fang-tastic day.
““These events are a fantastic way to bring local people together, make new friends and enjoy the fantastic new area we have created in Headington – especially when decorated with smiling pumpkins.”
Sue Holden, secretary at the Barton Community Association, added: “We are extremely grateful to Redrow Thames Valley for this kind donation, as we rely solely on the generosity of local businesses to make this event happen.

“The event was a fantastic way to promote community spirit and ensure that those living near The Steeples have friends and neighbours right on their doorstep. Everyone had a fa-boo-lous time at the disco.”
