A resident pub dog has had a beer named after him.

The Jolly Farmers in Paradise Street, Oxford, is run by Spike Greenwood, 51, and Rob Jordan, 46, who often bring their basset hound Sherlock into the boozer.

The canine is a staple of the LGBTQ+ pub and can regularly be seen snoozing on The Jolly Farmers armchairs – of course, in-between keeping an eye on the place.  

This month the hostelry revealed that a new beer, named after Sherlock, would now be available at the bar.

Sherlocked, a 4.1 per cent golden session ale, was produced by LoveBeer Brewery in Milton near Abingdon.

Sherlock is not the first dog to be given such an honour though, as the brewery has named many of its products after family pooches.
