Piers Morgan has hit out at Oxford MP Anneliese Dodds after she called out the lack of women in Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s cabinet.
On Tuesday (October 25), Ms Dodds – who is the Labour MP for Oxford East – tweeted: “Just one in five of the ministers around Rishi Sunak’s Cabinet table are women.
“I know the Conservatives struggle to add up, but women make up half the population.
“This isn’t a fresh start, it’s just jobs for the boys.”
The tweet drew a mixed reaction on social media, with some accusing the MP of playing ‘identity politics’ against the Conservative Party.
The tweet was re-shared by Mr Morgan who wrote: “Oh please.. you couldn’t even say what a woman is when you were asked.”

His response refers to an interview Ms Dodds took part in on BBC Woman’s Hour for International Women’s Day on March 8, in her role as Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities.
Interviewer Emma Barnett asked Ms Dodds what Labour’s definition of a women is, to which the MP responded “there are different definitions legally around what a woman actually is” and it “does depend what the context is”.
Ms Dodds made reference to both the biological definition and the legal definition under the Equality Act 2010.
At the time of this article's publication, Ms Dodds has not tweeted a response to Mr Morgan.
Anneliese Dodds has been approached for comment in regards to Mr Morgan’s tweet.
