Firefighters scrambled to student accommodation after a kitchen fire took hold.
Yesterday (October 21), three fire crews were mobilised at around 4.30pm after reports of a kitchen fire in in student accommodation in Crescent Road in Oxford.
The fire crews, one Slade Fire Station and two from Rewley Road Fire Station, scrambled to the building and were met with smoke logged accommodation.

The fire had already spread to the extractor system was caused by cooking which was left unattended.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with CO2 extinguishers and high pressure hose reels.
Students were able to evacuate the building and no one was injured.
Incident commander Shaun Lewis urged members of the public to be careful when cooking and not get distracted by phone calls or other things.
