A SECOND Oxfordshire MP has called for a general election following the resignation of the Prime Minister earlier today (October 20).
Labour MP Anneliese Dodds, who represents East Oxford, said Liz Truss’s time in power was ’44 days of utter chaos’.
She said the country needs a ‘fresh start’ which will begin with a general election being called.

Commenting on the resignation on Twitter, Ms Dodds said: “12 years of Conservative failure.
“Three Prime Ministers in four months. 44 days of utter chaos. The Conservatives have failed.
“This country can’t afford more of their squabbling. We need a fresh start. We need a general election now.”
The Oxford Mail have asked Ms Dodds for a full statement in reaction to the resignation.
