Close your eyes and imagine a music festival.

What do you think of?

Enjoying great music in glorious surroundings, surrounded by hundreds of like-minded people? Or just mud, damp clothes, a leaky tent, grim food and awful toilets?

Well, if it's the latter, the organisers of an Oxfordshire music festival have got some good news. Festival going can be not only fun - but comfortable.

From June 27 to 29, the serene surroundings of Blenheim Palace will be transformed into one of the biggest, best, and downright coolest events of the summer: Wakestock.

Born out of a gathering of devotees of the sport of wakeboarding, in which thrill-seekers surf behind speedboats, the event has evolved from its modest roots into the most grin-inducing party of the summer - which, for the first time, will take place right here in the county.

Featuring the likes of Supergrass, Mark Ronson, Groove Armada, Happy Mondays, Young Knives, Futureheads, Funeral for a Friend, Pendulum, Pete Tong, Calvin Harris, and The Streets, it showcases the best in rock, pop, dance, indie and urban music.

But this three-day spectacular isn't just a festival, it's an insight into a way of life - one fuelled by adrenaline sport, rock, dance and partying.

And, even reluctant festie-goers will be delighted to know, you can do it all in style!

The Oxford Mail has joined forces with Wakestock to present the ultimate festival going experience - VIP festival-going.

Not only do these exclusive tickets give you access to all the music and sporting action on each of the three days, but they allow you to hang out with stars, celebs and wakeboarders.

You also get a private entrance into the site, access to the plush VIP area, private restrooms and showers, garden seating, private cash machines, exclusive food and bar facilities, efficient security and hostess services.

Forget wellies, flat beer, rough cider and soggy burgers. This is festival-going for style aficionados, who want to hang out with the beautiful people.

The only problem you are likely to face is dragging yourself away from the VIP zone to catch the cream of the musical talent on stage. And at the end of the day you can either go home and relax, or retire to a local hotel.

Helping to promote the event is East Oxford music aficionado Alan Day of TCT Music, who said: "The burgeoning line-up of top bands and artists speaks for itself.

"Wakestock is one of the best events of its kind in the country - and the only one to combine hot new music with the fast-growing sport of wakeboarding.

"The addition of VIP tickets makes it even more attractive - even to those who love sport and music, but don't want to miss out on their creature comforts."

Festival founder Mark Durston said: "2008 is going to be the year of Wakestock. We've built the festival up to be a really cool mix of the world's best wakeboarders, bands and DJs right at the forefront of the live music scene and a lifestyle that is unrivalled by any other festival.

"To add a second venue as stunning as Blenheim Palace is an opportunity we've relished. The grounds at Blenheim Palace, as a festival venue, are first class.

"Add to this a stunning lake right in front of the palace and you have the perfect setting to showcase the coolest sport on water."

From now until Thursday, Oxford Mail readers and users of our website www.oxfordmail.co.uk have an exclusive chance to snap up the first VIP day tickets.
