A cosy pub is offering people a space to stay warm this winter as they join a drive designed to help households facing soaring energy bills.
Councils and other organisations are offering a lifeline for those struggling to keep their homes warm as winter bites with libraries, hubs and community centres being offered as Warm Spaces.
The Red Lion at Northmoor is offering a place where people can go just to stay warm from 3pm to 5pm Wednesday to Friday.
The pub posted on its Facebook page: "Help yourself to free tea, coffee and biscuits. Come in for a chat or simply to enjoy some peace and quiet and keep warm. Plenty of books, newspapers and board games available plus free WiFi.
"Tables to book if you’d like to work from the pub instead of home."
The Red Lion, which has "rugged stone walls", "flickering tealights" and glowing fireplaces, has won numerous awards including Best Destination Pub in Oxon & Bucks at the Muddy Stilettos Awards 2022.
