A TECHNICAL director has been named as Oxfordshire’s Best Tradesperson in the annual Jack FM Brick Awards 2022.

Phil Hookham, a utilities technical director at Talboys Utility Services (TUSO) in Horspath, Oxford, was announced as the winner of the highly coveted ‘Oxfordshire's Dulux Decorator Centre Best Tradesperson’ award this month.

The ‘prestigious’ award celebrates the most outstanding tradesperson within the county who has had a positive impact in their sector.

Mr Hookham, who has been with the family-run business since day one, scooped up the award during a presentation evening at the Bodleian Library hosted by presenters Iain Lee and Trevor Marshall.

He said he was 'delighted' to receive the accolade, adding: “I am incredibly proud and humble.

“I would like to thank the fantastic team I work with, and of course the many customers I have worked for over the years.”

Nigel Membury, managing director of TUSO, said: “Phil embodies the company’s values in putting the customer first, if anyone deserves this award it is Phil.

“He not only delivers every day for our customers but is a great role model to the rest of our team.”

Nick Talboys, company founder, added: “Phil has been a major factor in the success of the company and deserves every bit of recognition this award brings.”

Operating since 1985, TUSO specialises in repair and maintenance of customer side water network in the Thames Valley.
