I read the letter from Chris Child, marketing manager at Stagecoach (Oxford Mail, May 21).
I realise there were roadworks in Hollow Way and at The Slade junction.
We travelled that route daily and could not see such a hold-up to cause three buses to run in convoy.
Even now the problem of some No 10 buses running late continues and there are no roadworks. So what is the excuse now?
Secondly, I am glad that Mr Child has at last agreed that wheelchairs have priority over pushchairs and buggies, but he cannot grasp the point I am trying to make.
When wheelchair-access buses came into being, wheelchairs were given priority - pushchairs and buggies should not use this space at any time.
The rule is - one wheelchair and one pushchair or buggy in the pushchair space. If another pushchair comes on board, it has to be folded.
I am going to start a petition to send to the Transport Minister to make this law.
My wife and I go to Templars Square, Cowley, daily and are at the Westgate and Clarendon Centres on two or three days.
As for bus drivers leaving engines running, I find that it has now stopped since my last letter in the Oxford Mail, but how long for?
If I find any driver leaving his or her engine running at bus stops in the city centre, I will definitely report them, not only to the bus company concerned but also to the city and county councils.
