A 49-year-old man found with serious neck injuries remains in a serious condition in hospital.
The man, who is believed to be Russell Yeates, was discovered in Bell Lane, Wheatley, on Monday afternoon.
He was described as being in a serious, but not life-threatening, condition. Debbie Smith, 47, a mother-of-one was found nearby with neck wounds.
She later died of her injuries. A post-mortem into the cause of her death took place yesterday, but the results have not been released.
Police have launched a murder inquiry and have appealed for anyone with information to call 08458 505505 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
