The driver of a car in collision with an ambulance on the A40 at Cassington in the early hours of this morning has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
Eight people in total were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital after the smash at 1am.
The ambulance - which had attended a domestic-related incident in Witney - was travelling to the JR when it collided head-on with a black Renault Clio.
One ambulance crew member received a minor back injury while the other, who was driving the vehicle, suffered a broken finger.
A patient and a police officer riding in the ambulance both received minor injuries.
Four men in their 20s in the Clio received minor injuries. The 24-year-old driver of the Clio was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.
At the moment he remain in hospital.
Insp Nigel Welham of Oxfordshire Roads Policing said: "We are relieved no one was badly injured in what could have been a very serious collision. "
