A dynamic group of teenage entrepreneurs proved they are in tune with the business community after carrying off a top award.
Kaleido, which is made up of sixth formers from Oxford High School, won the overall title at the Oxfordshire Young Enterprise Awards after producing Inspired, a CD of local bands.
Joint managing director Clare Thakker, 17,said: "I am thrilled - it has really been worth all the hard work and we are very excited about going forward in the competition.
"It really has been a joint effort and if we had not pulled together, then it would not have been possible."
The firm's secretary, Joanna Sadler, also 17, added: "It is a testament to the bands as well as the company."
Inspired features the work of 11 local bands and artists. It then went on sale at local stores including the Oxford branch of Borders and the company also held a sale at the city's WH Smith outlet in Cornmarket Street.
Kaleido made a gross profit of £1,113 - which is expected to swell to more than £1,730 once all the CDs have been sold.
At the finals of the competition, held at the Said Business School in Oxford, the Kaleido team fought it out with seven other schools and walked away with two other awards for the best financial and company reports.
Graham Varney, managing director of Cowley building firm Benfield & Loxley, who advised Kaleido, said: "The team has a fantastic attitude and all the elements of a successful business are there."
The judges praised all the finalists for their efforts and the standard they achieved after setting up and running their companies successfully in just eight months.
Fiona Reid, director of the Oxford Science Enterprise Centre at the Said Business School, said: "This year's finalists are the highest quality I have seen since I became involved with the competition several years ago."
Oxford High School also made it a memorable double after its other firm, the Nouveau Company, won the Oxford Mail award for the best use of publicity.
Kaleido will now go on to compete in the South East regional final of the competition on June 18.
