TV presenter Jonathan Dimbleby visited Oxford to talk about his new TV series and book about Russia.
Russia: A Journey with Jonathan Dimbleby, screened on Sunday nights on BBC2, took the presenter two years to complete.
The 63-year-old told 100 people at Borders Bookshop on Tuesday, that he had spent 18 weeks in Russia, and said filming the series had been a mammoth undertaking.
Asked earlier by the Oxford Mail how he found the Russian people, Mr Dimbleby said: "Curious, friendly, resilient, fatalistic and very good at drinking vodka."
Anthony Edwards, store manager of Borders in Magdalen Street, said: "It was an excellent author event. Jonathan was very friendly and spent a couple of hours here, giving a talk and signing books."
