Sir - The closure of all the threatened post offices in Oxfordshire comes as no surprise to the Green Party.

We will lose our post offices as surely as we have lost our NHS dentists under the Tories and Labour. People were invited to vote Labour on the basis that Labour councillors and the Labour MP would be able to stop this from happening.

The Conservative county council promised to work with local people to try to stop the closures. We are puzzled as to why people believed this typical political spin when they cast their votes for the major parties on May 1. We are convinced that the public of Oxford do not want the privatisations and public sector closures which are pushed forward by the major parties. Why do people vote for the things that they do not want and then get upset about them?
