Sir - I strongly believe that as NHS staff are at the forefront of caring for others they should themselves at least be entitled to decent working conditions.

Yet my partner often returns from her job in a demanding role in a busy Oxfordshire Mental Healthcare unit tired and drained from working in an office without adequate ventilation. Even when temperatures are moderate outside, her office is uncomfortably warm, and in summer the heat is excessive. Although this has been brought to the attention of management consistently over a period of more than two years, this has not resulted in any action at all to improve these unacceptable conditions.

I am concerned and saddened that my partner who gives so much to her role should be rewarded by this level of neglect and apathy on the part of NHS management - surely those who care for us should expect to be cared for in return by their employer?
