A MAN was killed after he climbed on to the tracks at Kings Sutton Railway Station and was hit by a train.
The man, who is yet to be identified, climbed from the platform and was struck by the train at about 1.04pm on Monday.
A spokesman for British Transport Police said the driver of the train, travelling from London's Marylebone Station to Birmingham's Snow Hill Station, had been questioned following the incident.
They said: "The driver said they were travelling at 70 to 80mph when they saw the man climb down on to the track from the platform as he approached.
"They sounded the horn and applied the emergency brakes but were unable to avoid hitting the man."
Services were disrupted until 2.20pm on the Chilton Railway and First Great Western networks while police carried out investigations.
A spokesman said it was being treated as a non-suspicious death.
