Don't they look swell?
It was remarkable story when John Macfarlane donated a kidney to his wife Suzi.
And it is equally remarkable to see how well both of them look, just 12 days after the operation.
For Mrs Macfarlane, her world is back on track with a vengeance.
After months of abstinence, chocolate, fruit, coffee, even a bag of liquorice toffee, are on the menu again.
She will be looking forward to a new lease of life, at work, at home and with her family.
Husband John, too, is well on his way to recovery and soon hopes to be back at work as a plasterer.
They are a shining example of what our wonderful medical teams in Oxford can achieve - provided they have the raw materials.
In the Macfarlanes' case, that was having a kidney readily available for transplant.
How much better life would be for so many other people if more donors came forward and more organs were available.
