One of the first duties of Wallingford's new mayor, Alec Hayton, was to take the salute on Mayor's Sunday.
Cholsey Silver Band played for the parade through the Market Place by representatives from the Royal Air Force, Royal British Legion, Wallingford air and army cadets and members of the Scouts, Guides and Boys' Brigade.
Civic dignitaries also attended a service at St Mary's Church led by the mayor's chaplain, the Rev David Rice, the Rector of Wallingford.
Before the ceremonies, Mr Hayton was collected from his home by fellow town councillors to walk in procession to the Market Place, led by the council's macebearer.
