A pregnant Fallow deer was rescued today after it got trapped in a fence at Aston Rowant Nature Reserve.
The deer, which suffered cuts and bruising following its attempt to free itself from the wire fence, was released by firefighters from Thame and Kidlington after walkers had contacted the fire service at about 10am.
The deer was taken to the Tiggywinkles centre, in Haddenham, for treatment.
Station manager Simon Belcher, of Thame fire station, said: "The crews did an excellent job. When I arrived they had cut the deer free and were caring for it's wounds and trying to prevent it from harming itself any more."
