Antony Worrall Thompson's Oxfordshire gastro-pub has landed the celebrity chef in trouble after its barbecue was criticised by environmental health officers.
The barbecue erected at The Lamb Inn at Satwell, near Henley-on-Thames, was not to the taste of inspectors from South Oxfordshire District Council who said it did not comply with the Food Safety Act.
Officers objected to the counter of the barbecue, which was made from unsealed paving stones, and said it could lead to a potential breeding ground for germs.
They also noted that fryers used in the barbecue area were put on an old wooden table, which was not suitable in a food preparation area.
The problems were discovered after Mr Worrall Thompson submitted retrospective planning permission for the barbecue area, which was built without council consent.
Council planners are expected to make a decision on whether the barbecue can remain at the pub next month.
