Sir - One of your correspondents (Letters, May 9) suggests that Spring Residential should build a concert hall as well as a few flats on the Jericho canalside site.
Unfortunately the site is narrow and not large enough for a concert hall. Many of us think that it is also not large enough for the 54 flats proposed. Spring has appealed against our refusal of permission for their application. Later this year a planning inspector will hear the appeal. Fortunately, there are plans for a 400 to 600-capacity conference centre/concert hall as part of the Oxpens redevelopment. We certainly do need another concert hall.
