Sir - Your report on the ceremony to mark the centenary of the Territorial Army (May 2) very rightly concentrated on the young men and women serving today.
Sgt Deborah Frances put their service in context. It was also good to recognise the achievements of soldiers in the past - everyone who has given up their time and made the ultimate sacrifice over the 100 years.
Your readers may care to know that later this year they will be able to find out more about these soldiers from the past, the volunteers from Oxfordshire who served in the Territorial Army since 1908.
With the County Museum Service, The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust is mounting an exhibition at the Oxfordshire Museum, Woodstock. The exhibition will deal with some of the activities and stories of both peace-time and war service and will open at the end of October for a period of six months. Visits by school and other groups will be most welcome as will family enquiries about the war service of individuals.
Tim May, Deputy chairman, The Soldiers of Oxfordshire Trust, Ickford
