Newly promoted Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd came within nine runs of pulling off an opening day win at Chearsley in Division 4.
Mark Claridge hit 77 in the hosts' 183 all out, then Craig Lambert's 65 put Shipton in with a real chance of victory.
But despite being up with the required run rate, they lost too many wickets to Nick Babington (4-40) and were bowled out for 175.

League newcomers Twyford enjoyed a triumphant afternoon in their first match, seeing off Banbury Twenty 2nd by six wickets.
Jack Deal took 3-10 as Twenty were rolled over for 95 after being asked to bat, then Henry Colver hit 45 as the visitors reached 96-4.

Steve Roberts took 5-103 in a marathon spell for Oxford Downs 2nd at Buckingham Town 2nd.
Ben Stafford (58no) and Graham Judd (40) helped the home side reach 231-8, which proved more than enough as Downs slumped to 154 all out against Ben Stafford (6-57).

Challow & Childrey 2nd suffered a disappointing loss at Kimble, failing to chase down the home side's 141.
Only Justin Penrose (37) showed any early season form with the bat as Challow crashed to 109 all out.

Stokenchurch have taken an immediate dislike to the league's new playing conditions, which mean there is now no limit on the number of fielders who may be placed on the boundary.
Their complaint came as they could manage only 196-7 in reply to Princes Risborough's 225-5.
